I have been following a buck that I named Hollywood for the last two years. Last year I figured he was a 3.5 year old deer and I chose to pass him. This year I had been getting constant photos of Hollywood who is now a 4.5 year old seven point. A couple months ago I got a phone call from my uncle who was also my biggest mentor that he had cancer and a short period to live. From my uncle I inherited a really nice muzzleloader and I had set out on a mission to kill a dandy buck with my uncles muzzleloader. Hollywood started being pretty easy to pattern showing up every other day. On Friday November 14th He was in there at 6:45 in the morning. I told myself I’d be in there Sunday waiting on him. Sunday Nov 16th at 8 am Hollywood stepped out at 18 yards and I was able to kill him with my uncles muzzleloader. I got a phone call from my aunt that same morning after getting out of the woods that my uncle had passed just a few hours before. I would like to think that my uncle brought that buck to me as a final good bye.
