On Friday, October 18th I was finally able to end my 8 year dry spell of not harvesting a buck. When I started hunting this property 8 years ago, I got right on the does and harvested quite a few over the years but was never able to get bucks patterned enough to get on them. This year I invested in some WiseEye cameras, and did a tremendous amount of scouting and put boots on the ground to start putting pieces together. These cameras helped me see that my scouting I did was correct and found what I was looking for. HuntControl also helped tremendously in confirming my thoughts on time of day and how weather was affecting their movements. On October 18, HuntControl told me to be in the area between 4-6pm. I set up and was comfortable in the tree at 2:55pm. At 3:13pm, I was drawing back on my first buck in what felt like forever. I can’t thank WiseEye for these amazing cameras, the amazing customer service, and the effort into developing hunt control and helping me further improve on patterning these deer.
