Power Your WiseEye Cameras All Season with Solar Chargers

Hello everyone, my name is Kyle McClain, and I’m the Ranch Plan Manager here at WiseEye. Most of my blogs are going to be written with our Ranch Plan customers in mind — those running 10 or more cameras — but today’s topic is one that every WiseEye user can benefit from: solar chargers.
If you’ve ever worried about swapping out batteries in the middle of the season, you’ll understand why solar chargers are one of the most valuable upgrades you can make. They save time, cut costs, and keep your cameras running when you need them most.
Why Solar Chargers Are a Game-Changer
Many of our Ranch Plan users are based in Texas, where the open terrain, smaller trees, and long sunny days make solar chargers the perfect fit. With the right setup, your cameras can stay charged year-round — so you never miss that critical shot of a trophy buck or herd movement.
Getting Started the Right Way
When your solar chargers arrive, the first step is simple but essential: fully charge them before heading to the field. Chargers ship partially charged (usually below 50%), which is fine for a short time, but won’t give you the long-term reliability you need. Plan to give each charger 6–8 hours of charge before deployment.
Once charged, connect the charger to your camera and take a quick test picture. This double-checks two things:
- Your camera is working properly.
- The charger is delivering the voltage it should (anything above 11.7 volts is excellent).
Set It and Forget It
Each WiseEye solar charger comes ready to go with a mounting bracket and a yellow-tip cord that plugs directly into the 12V port. Just mount the charger where it can get 4–6 hours of direct sunlight per day, wrap the cord tightly against the tree or T-post (to keep raccoons and squirrels from pulling it loose), and hit the test button on your camera to confirm everything is working.
From there, your chargers will do the heavy lifting — keeping your cameras charged and your system running smoothly, season after season.
The WiseEye Advantage
WiseEye solar chargers aren’t just about convenience — they’re about confidence. Confidence that your cameras will capture every moment, deliver data when you need it, and help you manage your property more effectively. Whether you’re running 10 cameras or 100, solar chargers are the best way to protect your investment and keep your operation running at peak performance.
Bottom line: A little preparation goes a long way. Fully charge, test, and set up your chargers correctly, and they’ll keep your WiseEye cameras powered through the toughest conditions.
If you’re ready to scale up your operation or want to learn more about how solar chargers can transform the way you run your Ranch Plan, don’t hesitate to reach out. I’d be happy to walk you through it.
