Do I need an update?
We have put a system in place so you can easily tell if you need to update your camera.
- Go to the Remote Control Menu for the camera in question.
- Check at the bottom of the Remote Control Menu for a “Camera Firmware Update” button. If there is a button there, then it means that we have checked your current firmware on your camera and there is an update available.
- If the button appears greyed out or inactive, that means that your camera has not checked in yet for us to verify its current firmware. Please check back after 2-3 days of your camera being constantly on.
Update Option 1 - Remotely
You can update remotely through our apps or through the website. Please see below.
NOTE:If you are going to update using the Android or Apple App, first make sure you have the most up to date app version. They can be found at the links below.
- Go to the Remote Control Menu for the camera you wish to update.
- Click the “Camera Firmware Update” button. One of three messages will appear.
Ready to Update
Press “OK” to send the update command to your camera. You will not be able to send additional remote control commands until the camera updates or until the estimated update time. You will see the estimated update time after the command is sent. If your camera does not have sufficient battery power or signal it will simply abandon the update and you can try again at a later time. The camera will remain functional during the 48+hr update period, and you will not lose any pictures or data.
Daily Report Needed
Your camera will need to send daily report before you can update. It is best to let the camera operate for 48-72hrs continuously and then try again. If you continually ge this message, please contact us for assistance.
Wrong Check-In Setting (Older Firmware Only)
For some of the older firmware versions, it is best if they are updated while in “Once Daily” check in mode. If your camera has one of these older firmwares, you will be asked to change your check in mode and then try again in 24hrs.
