SmartCam

Let’s go over all the remote control settings that are available for the SmartCam in the Remote Control tab of HuntControl.

  • Camera Mode (SmartCam Only) – From this drop-down menu you can change the SmartCam to take Photos (default)Videos, or (newPic+Video. The Pic+Video option will take a picture and record a video simultaneously.
  • Burst Mode – Set the SmartCam to take a burst of photos when it detects motion. By default, this is set to 1 but can be changed to take a burst of 2-3 Images. The burst of images will be taken 1 second apart and can not be adjusted.
  • Picture Size – Change the picture size of the image between 5 (default), 8, and 12 megapixels. Note: This will only change the size of the image that is stored on the SD Card, not the size of the image that is transmitted to HuntControl.
  • Night Mode – There are three-night mode settings, Min. BlurBalanced, and Max RangeMin. Blur will help with motion blur but will limit the range of the infrared distance. Balanced is a mix between Min. Blur and Max RangeMax Range uses all the infrared lights at max capacity to shoot the infrared lights the maximum possible distance.
  • Camera Check-In  Set the SmartCam to look for remote changes Once a Day (default) or Always Available. When set to Once a Day the SmartCam will check for remote changes made by the user within HuntControl once a day (usually around midnight). This is the default setting. When set to Always Available changes made remotely by the user will take effect immediately. (Note: running the SmartCam in “Always Available” will affect battery life drastically and is not recommended without an external power source.)
  • Delay – Set a time interval between photos or videos upon motion with the Delay. This option can help avoid taking too many photos or videos. Note: All cellular cameras have a natural delay between the first image being sent and the second image being taken.
  • Time Lapse – Set the SmartCam to take photos throughout the day even when motion is not detected. For example, if this is set at “00:30:00” the SmartCam will take a picture every 30 minutes. This is ideal for cameras set on fields where animals may be passing by out of detection range.
  • Motion Sensitivity – Change the sensitivity of the motion sensor between LowMiddle, and High (default) on the SmartCam.
  • Work Timers  Select which hours during the day for the camera to be active. Do not set this if you wish the camera to always be active. You can select up to 2 Work Timers a day.
